A new gas line adds to what your home can run: a barbecue on the deck, a range in the kitchen, a dryer, a pool heater, a generator, a garage heater.

Every line is permitted, pressure-tested and inspected before it goes into service. Pressure testing means we seal the line, put it under pressure, and confirm nothing leaks. That is what the work requires.

Rural properties out toward West Lincoln often need a much longer run from the road to the house. That changes the job enough that we would rather come and look than guess over the phone.

Gas Line Repair

Gas piping does not last forever. Corrosion, ground movement and worn joints all cause trouble eventually.

We repair damaged and failing lines, then pressure-test the whole system before certifying it back into service. Testing only the repaired section is not enough.

Gas Safety Inspection

You’ll need a gas safety inspection when you are selling the home, insurance asks for proof, or you just want to know the system is safe.

Health Canada advises having a qualified technician inspect and clean your fuel-burning appliances, furnace, vent pipe and chimney flues once a year. (4) Carbon monoxide is the reason. The early signs are easy to miss: tiredness, headache, dizziness, nausea, shortness of breath.

Signs You Need a Gas Fitter

Some of these are urgent. Some can wait until Monday.

A rotten egg smell. Natural gas has no smell of its own. This is added deliberately so leaks get noticed. Refer back to the top of this page.

Hissing near a line or an appliance. Even faint hissing is worth a call.

A pilot light that will not stay lit.

A yellow flame where it should be blue, or soot marks around an appliance.

Dead grass or plants over a buried line outside. Often the first sign of an underground leak.

A carbon monoxide alarm sounding. Leave first, then call.

If it is the smell or the alarm, do not wait for a booking. Call the utility company.
